About Us

Our Story

In May of 2023, a group of students in the 10th Grade Global Studies class were assigned to create a small form of media to spread awareness on a relevant societal topic and decided to make a mural next to their classroom for their submission.

This mural was made to promote diversity and inclusion, values that are visible today as core tenets of the Mural Club in our commitment to making mural projects accessible to everyone, regardless of artistic talent. Later that year, these students formed the Cal High Mural Club.

Our mission is to combine student expression with artistic vision to make our campus truly representative of the community within.

California Youth Mural Association

The Cal High Mural Club is one of three San Ramon chapters of the California Youth Mural Association (CYMA), a nonprofit organization based in the Tri-Valley region of the Bay Area dedicated to providing high school art clubs and individuals with the resources and guidance to beautify their localities with murals.

The CYMA connects our club to mural projects and community events throughout the Bay Area. Mural Club members are encouraged to attend CYMA events to meet volunteers and artists from other schools and contribute to the greater community!

CYMA events are NOT hosted by the Cal High Mural Club. Any Mural Club members wishing to volunteer at a CYMA event will only be provided with the appropriate contact information and details through the Mural Club.
